BLOCKCHAIN RECEIPT, BLOCKCHAIN HASH RECORD, & DATA AUTHENTICITY

VALIDATION TUTORIALS

VALIDATING A BLOCKCHAIN RECEIPT

A valid Blockchain Receipt will verify the authenticity of related Blockchain hashes.

  1. Copy the entire 'Blockchain Receipt' data from your confirmation e-mail.
  2. Visit Tierion Validation
  3. Paste the ‘Blockchain Receipt’ data in the textbox and click ‘Validate’

Now that you've authenticated your Blockchain Receipt, take note of the 'targetHash' and 'sourceId' as they will be used for further validation in the next sections.

BLOCKCHAIN HASH RECORD

Verify that your data has been published to the Blockchain using a Blockchain Anchor. Your Blockchain Anchor should match the 'sourceId' found in your Blockchain Receipt.

  1. Copy 'Blockchain Anchor’ hash that is listed in your confirmation e-mail.
    • The hash is 64 characters of random letters and numbers.
  2. Visit a Blockchain Explorer.
  3. Navigate to the search bar, paste your 'Blockchain Anchor' hash, and submit!

This page shows the details of the transaction that contains your published data on the Blockchain.

DATA AUTHENTICITY

Use the 'JSON' string to verify the authenticity of published data.

  1. Copy the entire 'JSON' field from your confirmation e-mail.
  2. Visit a SHA-256 calculation website or download a SHA-256 calculator.
  3. Navigate to the 'Hash Generator For Text' section and paste your 'JSON' string.
  4. If given the option, select SHA-256. Otherwise, skip this step and search for SHA-256 in the results.
  5. Click 'Validate'

The SHA-256 hash generated should match the 'JSON Hash' provided in the e-mail and the 'targetHash' contained in the Blockchain Receipt, thus guaranteeing the authenticity of the published data.
